Extremely important. In fact, your very happiness depends upon it. Think about it…you are the only person you have to live with every moment of every day. Your voice is louder & more believable than any other voice. If you are not happy with yourself, it won’t matter what anyone else thinks of you.
And when that happens, something else magical begins to happen…you start to see others in a new light & they start to see you in a new light. When you feel love for yourself, you also feel love for others. When you respect yourself, others will begin to respect you. The way you see the world around you is a reflection of the way you see yourself. A huge reason we’re doing this challenge is to start to change all that negative self-talk you have running around in your head. The more TRUTH you begin to SPEAK to yourself, the more TRUTH you’ll begin to SEE in yourself.
Below is one of my favorite quotes. It reminds me to not be afraid to let my light shine…
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.’ We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marianne Williamson
